During 2007, UK manufacturing was at its most productive for a decade. Not only was investment at an all time high over the same period, but the numbers of companies reporting a profit was up 34%.

Faced with huge pressure from overseas competitors, companies have learned to become far cleverer about the way they do business and the sector has transformed itself. Fast Forward has been working hard with a number of South West employers to develop their workers to meet the needs of the new challenges faced by the sector.
